Rules
Getting Ready
If your child is a late registration you may receive your transportation
information late. It is a good idea to review the busing policies and
procedures with your child and be aware that bus safety may include the
placement of cameras on some buses.
Bus Code of Conduct
- Follow the directions of your driver
- Be at your bus stop 5 minutes before your pick-up time
- Stay seated
- Keep your hands and feet to yourself
- No eating, chewing gum or swearing
- Keep books, lunch
boxes and other bulky items on your lap
- Students are responsible for any deliberate damage done to the
bus
- Items are not to be thrown within the bus or out of the bus
- There should be no part of your body outside of the bus window
- You need to use your "inside voice" only
- Requests to ride on a different bus, or to get off at a
different stop, are only granted in an emergency. A note outlining
the request must be signed by the Principal and shown to the bus
driver
Inclement Weather
Centre Wellington and Town of Erin Buses and Taxis
- In the event of inclement weather, the Director of Education
will make the decision to close schools by 6:00 a.m.
Announcements are made by local radio stations to indicate
transportation cancellations and/or school closures. This
information is also posted on the Board's website. If
transportation is cancelled in the morning it will not be
available at dismissal. If you drive your children to
school, please be prepared to arrange transportation home.

During inclement weather, please listen to: Erin Radio 101.5 FM;
1460 AM CJOY; 106.1 Magic FM; Oldies 1090 AM; 99.1 FM CBC; 105.3
Kool FM; Newstalk 570 AM; 96.7 FM CHYM; or, watch CKCO-TV. These
stations will announce cancellations.
- When you hear the
radio announcement, "All school taxis and buses in Centre
Wellington and the Town of Erin will not be operating today" -
your child's bus is cancelled. The School may or may not be open
depending upon the severity of the weather. Announcements on
school closings will usually follow school taxis and bus
cancellations.

Your child rides a "Centre Wellington and the
town of Erin" school bus or taxi to school. Click on
the blue card or the bus on the side menu for detailed
information on cancellations and school closures.

Please note the following that when students are at school, the
following guidelines may be used in deciding when to keep students
indoors during recess and lunchtime when the weather is extremely
cold outside:
- If the temperature falls below -25°C ( 13°F); or
-
If the wind chill index is -25°C ( 13°F) or greater
